Hiking & Nature Watching
There’s no better way to soak up the beauty of the Sunshine Coast than by walking through it. In Halfmoon Bay, we are spoiled to have some of the prettiest hikes in the region right in our own backyard with many being suitable for all ages and abilities.
Road & Mountain Biking
The southern Sunshine Coast boasts over 380 kilometres of mountain biking trails – many of which are located right here in Halfmoon Bay. Whether you are a beginner rider or more experienced, you will be sure to find thrilling trails that will suit your skill level.
If road cycling is more your style, you’re in luck. There are a number of picturesque cycling routes in the area, including the classic 170-kilometre stretch of Highway 101 that weaves its way past lakes, old growth forests and ocean vistas.
The many inlets and fjords along the Sunshine Coast offer exceptional opportunities for cold-water diving – from a sunken WWII Royal Canadian Navy escort destroyer turned reef to a nine-foot-tall underwater statue of a mermaid.
Whether it’s fishing for salmon in the Salish Sea, giant lingcod in Pender Harbour or rainbow trout in one of the many mountain-fed lakes or streams, the Sunshine Coast offers anglers a rewarding fishing experience in pristine surroundings.
